The video that is going to be used for the M.I.A. installation has been completed. It is a short 30 second clip of an angel statue as it slowly deteriorates. The video was made by fading in and out pictures of the statue from 1930, 1979, 2000, and 2007. In order to include an ARG puzzle, an extra picture was added into the video as a clue.
This will be projected onto the actual angel that is still in the city, though in a very worn down state. When a person walks by the movie will play to the end and then stop.
We are teamof 4 people ready to tackle on the upcoming issues of Venice. We will use our creative intuitions and savvy minds to create art installations that will add whimsy to the streets of Venice as well as excite the minds of the pedestrians in hopes of gaining a deeper appreciation for the historically rich city.
~interact with the 5 senses (touch, smell, hear, see, and taste) and the 6th (intuition) ~represent concrete issues impacting the quality of life of Venetians ~tickle the fancy of passers-by with beautiful street art ~engage the viewers in a game of sorts that will enable them to understand the entire project
So our goal is not only to develop a mechanism to advertise the project on the web, but also to implement, test, and install as many of the pre-existing concepts as possible (such as Arduino or Sunspots). We are aiming to solve any logistical issue associated with each installation (ie art peice) and design a system that will achieve the desired effect deploying minimalist sustainable technology in the field. Our goal is to also fully script and develop an overarching Augmented Reality Game (ARG) to tie the 20 installations together into a meaningful experience for the Venetian or tourist.
